Celtic are picking up their transfer activity at just the right time as another closing transfer window looms. Yesterday, out of nowhere, Celtic announced a loan signing for Southampton winger Mohamed Elyounoussi.
Saints spent £16m bringing the player to England only last season so there is plenty of excitement around the signing. Celtic look fantastic in attack this season and it is the back four that fans want to see strengthened.
Numerous reports in the last few hours are now suggesting that Greg Taylor will be announced in the next 24 hours. Record Sport & Football Scotland have strongly suggested a deal is all but done.
Scottish clubs are playing hardball when it comes to selling to Celtic. They have watched Celtic rake in £25m for Kieran Tierney and they want the biggest slice of that pie as they can get for their players.
Celtic will be hard pushed replacing Tierney but Lennon must see something in Taylor as he is prepared to shell out the rumoured 3m for the 21-year-old. Steve Clarke gave the defender a start for Scotland so he is certainly a player on the rise. Taylor will be welcome competition for Boli Bolingoli who has blown hot and cold in the Hoops but does seem to be improving.
This signing should have been made weeks ago utter shambles from the board yet again
