If you’re not a fan of international football you will be looking into the abyss this morning when you peer at the football calendar and see there’s not another Celtic game for twelve days.

But don’t despair, while the first fourteen days of October have no Celtic fixtures to speak of, the following seventeen days from the 14th onwards have six fixtures over three competitions.

Brendan Rodgers has time now to take stock of how his team is doing while some of his players head out on international duty and the ones left behind will have the chance to take a breath before the fixtures come thick and fast.

With SPFL games, a League Cup semi-final and the small matter of two Champions League ties against Bayern Munich in October it’s certainly going to be an exciting second half of the month.
