FORMER CELTIC STRIKER Odsonne Edouard has admitted his post-Celtic life hasn’t gone exactly as planned, struggling to find form.
He joined Patrick Viera’s side over 18 months ago, and netted a brace on his debut. It looked like he was about to set the league alight, but it hasn’t worked out that way.
He’s got just five goals in 22 games in all competitions this season, but he hasn’t scored in the league since October, despite the fact that he’s only missed two Premier League matches since.
Admitting he’s struggling, Edouard said that he’s going to keep working hard to find his form he once had.
“It’s not how I would want,” he admitted in a Sky Sports interview.
“I need to score more goals and get more assists, but sometimes it is hard. I just have to keep working to help the team. This moment is hard, especially for a striker, but you can never give up. All you can do is work hard but I think I just need to score one goal and that’s it. But I’ll keep working.
“We will keep working and I think we need to improve. We haven’t won this year so far. We are not happy with our position but we just need to try and win more points. We work hard every day to perform on the weekend, and win football matches. We don’t score enough and we need to improve in every aspect of the game. We need to be stronger defensively, have more balance in the midfield and have more chances to score.”
The 25-year-old has the quality; there’s no doubting that. The team’s poor run of form can be part of the problem, failing to pick up three points since their 2-0 win over Bournemouth on New Year’s Eve.
He’ll be looking to find form soon, slipping down the table, sitting 12th, just 7 points ahead of Everton in a relegation place.
Big Eddie is basically a lazy fecker who saw pound signs instead of signs of improvement?
