Ange Postecoglou has provided fans with an injury update of Celtic frontman Odsonne Edouard.

The Frenchman was brought off in the second half of yesterday’s game against Charlton and replaced late on by youngster Scott Robertson.

As quoted by Sun Sport, it doesn’t appear to be any sort of worry as of yet for Postecoglou, who revealed the 24-year old was brought off as a precaution.

“He just felt his quad a bit tight. I was speaking to him there, and I don’t think it is anything serious. It was just a precaution for him.

“He probably wanted to make sure he don’t do any real damage to it.

“It’s too early to tell for Wednesday’s game.”

At this stage of pre-season, not many fans would likely have expected Edouard to still be at the club as we approach the Champions League qualifiers for this season.

Whilst he remains at the club, though, we can’t really afford not to use a player of his quality in some of the biggest games in our season.

So, it is positive news to hear Edouard’s injury isn’t too much of a concern. Although he may miss Wednesday’s game against Wales, Postecoglou will be hoping that the French striker is fit in time for the FC Midtjylland tie.
