Odsonne Edouard said his farewell to the Celtic support on his Instagram page on Tuesday night as his Hoops exit was confirmed by the club.

Eddy had been looking to make a move to the Premier League for quite some time and the opportunity to play under Patrick Vieira at Crystal Palace came along.

The striker was in London on Tuesday to finalise the deal and undergo a medical before it was confirmed late into deadline day.

There’s an ‘end of an era’ feeling about this transfer. Edouard was a large part of our trophyladen success over recent years and his exit heralds in a brand new era at the club in my opinion.

Taking to social media – he thanked the fans and said all good things must come to an end.

Furuhashi becomes Celtic’s number one striker after the Frenchman’s exit and will lead the line after the international break.

Celtic brought in striker Giorgis Giakoumakis on deadline – but not as a direct replacement for Eddy because they are two entirely different t players.
