Celtic have officially completed the signing of Sheffield Wednesday defender Osaze Urhoghide.

The 20-year old has signed a four-year deal at the club as the preparations for next season begin to ramp up.

Reports of this deal only came to fruition earlier this afternoon, with it being suggested that the Hoops were coming closer to completing a move for the young defender.

It is also thought that we beat off competition from sides in England and abroad such as Leeds United, Crystal Palace and Benfica to name a few.

Urhoghide can play in both central defender and right-back. Both areas which Ange Postecoglou is in desperate need of going into next season.

He also becomes Celtic’s second piece of business this window, joining his former teammate Liam Shaw at the club.

Next week, the squad heads off to Wales on a pre-season camp as we begin to prepare for the 2021/22 competitive campaign. Fingers crossed, this is just the beginning of many signings coming through the door in the next few weeks.
