Celtic’s Thursday night’s opponents Real Betis have clamped an Ibrox fan for a rather juvenile and homophobic tweet on social media.
Celtic beat the Spanish side 3-2 at Celtic Park in the final game of the Europa League but Betis were keen to play up their friendship with Celtic.
Posting a half and half Celtic/Betis scarf in Glasgow yesterday, the Betis social media team were nothing but friendly.
This was enough to set off Celtic’s rivals and there were many comments aimed at the official Real Betis page.
The official club account couldn’t let this comment pass and made sure to embarrass the idiot who wrote it. However, given his twitter handle is ‘Kris Boyd Loyal’ we’re wondering if he’s capable of feeling embarrassment.
The Hoops have bowed out of the competition on nine points – a tally that was enough for 3 other clubs to qualify for the next round. Celtic and their group of death was sadly that in the end.
