CELTIC haven’t confirmed the date but the official UEFA website has the Celtic Champions League qualifier against Reykjavik slated for Tuesday 18 August at Celtic Park.

So many things have been uncertain since the draw but this would appear to lend some clarity at the moment. The game could have taken place one of two nights and Celtic Park could have been swapped for a neutral venue. It appears, at least for now, the game will go ahead a week on Tuesday.

It’s a straight knockout game, with only one leg per qualifier until the play-off round of the competition. This will be the Icelandic team’s first visit to Celtic Park – the last time the bhoys played KR, the game was changed to Murrayfield with Celtic Park unavailable.

Celtic have another two games before next Tuesday in the SPFL, first up St Mirren on Wednesday then Aberdeen back at home on Saturday.
