Artur Boruc took to social media today to register his “disgust” at recent events.

The goalkeeper who was nicknamed ‘The Holy Goalie’ during his time at Celtic Park seems to be upset about Celtic taking the place of another of his former clubs place in the Champions League playoffs.

He wrote:

[TRANSLATED] Football these days is rotten to the core … I’m glad I’m one of the few who look in the mirror without disgust.

Artur has always been a highly controversial figure but his words will not be taken kindly by Celtic fans who have backed him over the years.

While the situation is regrettable, the goalkeeper stoking the fires between the two clubs will help no one.

The Polish keeper was linked with a move back to Celtic to fill the space that Fraser Forster has made going the opposite way but this will put rest to those rumours.

Earlier today Legia sent an open letter to Celtic asking for the club to step aside. Celtic have since released a short statement.

“We are disappointed by Legia Warsaw’s comments. This is entirely a matter for UEFA and its processes. Accordingly, we will reserve further comment for the appropriate time.”
