A developmental Celtic side faced off against Hibernian today in a closed door game at Lennoxtown.

The idea of the game was to give minutes to new bhoys Lee O’Connor and Jonathan Afolabi with both getting a full 90 minutes for Celtic under their belt.

But the story of the game was elsewhere! Daniel Arzani played his first minutes of football in nearly a year after sustaining an ACL injury on his Celtic debut back in October 2018.

The player has been rehabbing in Barcelona, Australia, England and Scotland ahead of his long-awaited return and he came on as a sub in the 64th minute of the game.

Neil Lennon wanted to see the lad get some minuted before he begins to bring him into the first team fold.

Arzani wasn’t the only story of the game with Armstrong Oko-Flex stealing the limelight again with another goal for the developmental side. The former Arsenal trainee has been very impressive since his move to Celtic last summer.

The game ended 1-1 with Oko-Flex getting Celtic’s equaliser.

How long before Neil Lennon takes notice of the young man?
