Date of Birth: 9 Feb 1996
Debut: v Linfield 19 Aug 2017
Nationality: France
Signed: 12 July 2017

French midfielder Olivier Ntcham joined Celtic in the summer of 2017, and played a huge hand in the club’s success that year – assisting five times and scoring nine goals, including the decisive second in the Hoops’ 2-0 Scottish Cup win over Motherwell to clinch the Double Treble.

After moving from La Havre Under-19s to Manchester City Under-18s in 2012, Ntcham worked his way up to the English Premier League outfit’s U-23s, but did not appear at senior level. Instead, he spent two years on loan at Italian side Genoa, before moving to Paradise on a four-year permanent deal at the age of 21. In November 2018, the Frenchman extended his stay at Celtic Park to the summer of 2022.

His last-gasp strike that sank Lazio in Rome on November 7, 2019 made history.

With over 25 goals to his name in green and white, his Hampden matchwinner in the 2018 Scottish Cup final is among his best, while his last-gasp strike that sank Lazio in Rome on November 7, 2019 made history, as the Hoops recorded their first ever competitive win on Italian soil.

That win ensured the Hoops qualified from their UEFA Europa League group in 2019/20 as table-toppers with 13 points – the first time they’d finished in poll position and accrued more than 10 points at this stage.

Known for his creative flair, Ntcham often wows the Paradise faithful with his immaculate passing, great vision and neat link-up play with his fellow midfielders and his countryman, Odsonne Edouard, at the top of the pitch.

To date, Olivier Ntcham has helped Celtic win three league titles, two Scottish Cups and three League Cups and he spent much of the second half of the 2020/21 season on loan at Marseille.

COUNTRY BHOY
First capped for Patrick Gonfalone’s Under-16s on September 20, 2011, Ntcham rose through the France international system to U-21 level, making his debut under Sylvian Ripoll on June 5, 2017. In 18 appearances there, Ntcham scored one goal – a cultured 25-yard free-kick in a 3-0 win over Bulgaria – less than 10 minutes after coming on.
