The ink is still drying on Olivier Ntcham’s new four-year deal with Celtic but the player is targeting more success with the bhoys once he returns from injury.

The Frenchman has been missing from the team since the second half of the semi-final against Hearts last month and is working hard to get back to full fitness.

Olivier put an end to any speculation he was heading out the Parkhead door in January or this summer by signing his new deal and declared he was proud watching his teammates beat Leipzig last Thursday.

“I was really proud of my team because we showed the rest of Europe how good we are” Ntcham told the Celtic View.

However, the former Manchester City man admits he and his teammates don’t get enough respect when they head out on international duty with many believing it’s ‘easy’ to be a Celtic player.

Ntcham hit back at Celtic’s detractors.

“Sometimes when I go away some people think it’s easy to play for Celtic because we win so often in Scotland

“The win against Leipzig showed we are good enough to compete with big teams in Europe and can beat them.

“It’s been great to plain these European games. The crowd help a lot.

“Game after game I feel the team is getting better

“The fans give us extra energy and they intimidate the other teams too.”
