According to the back page of Mail Sports print edition this morning, Sampdoria are willing to discuss a deal for Celtic target Omar Colley which would be considerably less than his reported £10m release fee.
Celtic are just one of a number of clubs interested in the Gambian defender but the centre-back has his head down and is preparing for the return of the Serie A.
While the bhoys are looking for a defender, they will not be pulling the trigger until they know the future of Kristoffer Ajer. The Norwegian has been linked with a move away from Celtic Park but until someone puts up the money Celtic would like for the defender, he will remain a Celtic player and the club will have no need for another centre-back.
If a club does match his valuation then Celtic would quickly go to their list of targets and see what deal can be done to make sure the team doesn’t skip a beat.
Sky Sports confirmed Celtic had made an enquiry for the defender but nothing else has happened since.
