CELTIC have opened talks with their on-loan goalkeeper about making the move permanent this summer.

Scott Bain’s Dundee contract runs out May 31st this year and will be free to join any club at this time.

The 26-year-old can sign a pre-contract now which will see him tied down as a Celtic player going forward.

Celtic and the player are both very keen to a do a deal and that’s with the knowledge that there are Premier League clubs interested in Scott’s services.

Bain has started Celtic’s last three games and acquitted himself very well, it remains to be seen if Rodgers believes the goalkeeper can be our new number one or if he’ll play back up to Craig Gordon or another keeper the Irishman has his eye on this summer.

Bain looks like he will be heavily involved in Celtic’s end to the season with the player likely to be between the sticks as the team clinch 7-in-row.

Even though Craig Gordon is due back from injury mid-April, it’s thought that Bain will get the nod for the Scottish Cup Glasgow Derby.

Dorus de Vries looks to be on his way out of Celtic this summer after the player failed to impress in his short run of games before injury.
