Celtic Women have been busy in the transfer market this window, but concerningly there have been more outgoings than incomings.
The summer window was expected to be a tough one for Celtic, but the arrivals were expected to come thick and fast. However, that’s not been the case.
The club announced that top-scorer Charlie Wellings had left the club, joining reading for an undisclosed fee. Wellings, who was vital in last season’s success for the side, netted forty goals and will be a huge loss for Fran Alonso’s Ghirls.

Shortly after announcing the departure, Celtic Women announced their fifth signing of the summer, with Taylor Otto joining the side from Racing Louisville. The player can play in defence or midfield, and her versatility will come in handy throughout the season.

The 24-year-old won’t be available for the league opener against Hibs on Sunday afternoon, with the club still waiting on international clearance.
Otto will likely replace Sarah Harkes, who looks to be heading for the exit, with no word on committing to Celtic for the next season.
