The talk about a potential Celtic move for Canadian World Cup star, Alistair Johnston, continues to pick up pace.
The right-back has been heavily linked with Celtic talks over the last 24 hours. Multiple sources across the pond have been touting the move and now another journalist has claimed the deal is very much on.
Source confirms @ManuelVeth’s scoop: Celtic in advanced talks to sign CF Montreal and Canada defender Alistair Johnston. Nothing done yet but advanced.
Johnston, 24, has 31 caps with Canada & made 77 apps in MLS with Montreal and Nashville. Nashville have 10% sell-on clause. pic.twitter.com/3vHe1bHnA2

Alistair is likely to command a decent fee. We have two right backs at the club at the moment; Josip Juranovic and Anthony Ralston. If talks are at an advanced stage like multiple sources have reported, you have to imagine Juranovic is heading for a high profile Celtic exit.
Ange made it clear he wouldn’t hesitate in selling one of his perceived top stars in an attempt to help his squad evolve. Juranovic could be the first big Ange signing to exit for a considerably large fee.
We need to be pragmatic when it comes to our squad. If we have trust in the manager then anybody making an exit shouldn’t scare the fans.
We’ve been doing some digging on Johnstone and he appears to be a really exciting player who would fit in well with Ange ball.
Juranovic is the superior player. Ideally we would keep him!
