Celtic have done phenomenally well to make the two signings The Hoops support craved at the beginning of this transfer window. Signing both Jota and CCV seemed unimaginable to those who follow Celtic closely.
Incomings have been great, but now Celtic must show their ability to offload unwanted players as we approach the end of the current transfer window.
The bhoys have done well to trim the squad of lower key squad players. The one major deal would be getting Vasilis Barkas put out on loan.
There are still three players at Celtic who don’t appear to have a future at the Scottish champions who are taking up fairly large resources who must be moved on.
Albian Ajeti, Christopher Jullien and James McCarthy all look well out of Ange Postecoglou’s plans but are sitting on some hefty wages.
Chris was brought in for £6m, Ajeti around £4m and McCarthy on a free, considering the offers he would’ve had down south, the club will have handed the Irish international a decent wage packet.
If Celtic could get at least two of these guys off the wage bill before the end of the window, it would likely open the door for Ange to bring in one more strong signing to help the squad.
I fear if we don’t manage to offload these players, they will continue to drain resources without any sort of benefit to the first team or our pursuit of silverware.
We did the job with incomings, now let’s do our best to get these guys a new club. No harm to any three of them, but if they want first team football, they have to leave.
