Top comedian and passionate charity worker and Liverpool fan, John Bishop had some kind words to say about Celtic fans in his Supersonic gig at the Albert Hall after one supporter stumbled across the clip.

Speaking about his visit to Celtic Park to play in Styllian Petrov’s charity match after the player was diagnosed with Leukemia – the comedian could not be more in awe of the Celtic support.

John spoke of the passion and raw emotion of the day as the whole of Celtic Park sung You’ll Never Walk Alone at the end of the game.

“Like a lot of Liverpool supporters, Celtic is my Scottish team” John explained.

“It’s the only other club in the world who sing You’ll Never Walk Alone”

“It was a charity game to support Styllian Petrov, a servant of Celtic who was battling Leukemia”

“I’ve never been in a football ground with such emotion – 65,000 Celtic fans holding up green and white scarves as Styllian Petrov Walked around the pitch, holding hands with his son, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house”

John Bishop is a constant champion of good and charity and in 012 raised over £4million for Comic Relief.

He was absolutely spot on about the day in question, having attended the game, just thinking about that emotionally charged ‘Walk On’ it sends a shiver up the spine.

For anyone who missed it or wants to relive the special moment as Celtic fans support one of their own – just watch this.
