Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou came out swinging and didn’t miss when he discussed his future at Parkhead.

The Australian boss won his third piece of silverware on Sunday after his side defeated Rangers 2-1 in the final of the Viaplay Cup to retain the silverware once again.

Ange Postecoglou

In recent weeks, there has been so much speculation about the 57-year-olds future as he has been touted with moves to Premier League sides such as Leeds United, Southampton and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

It got so bad, that Ange Postecoglou even chose to miss a press conference ahead of Celtic’s Scottish Cup match against St Mirren.

He’s not the slightest bit interested in entertaining any of the hyperbole around his future and is focused on the task at Celtic as he is continually looking to evolve his side.

“I am going into my third year next year and I am going to keep doing what I am doing and not really worry about what other people see,” said Postecoglou as quoted by [Keep UP].

“So I’ll tell you what the first thing that will be said – and one of you (journalists) will be the first ones to do it – is I am not ambitious enough because I am not moving on.”

Postecoglou has experienced a number of different environments during his football career and has now likely got the Celtic squad where he wants it as it only now really needs a few tweaks as he sets his sights on further success.

He will want to make his mark on the club which is what the manager has done at any of the previous teams he’s managed.

During the history of Celtic, those who have made given a period of service to the club are fondly remembered.
