It is only halftime but Celtic and Aberdeen are playing out a stalemate at Paradise. Any clearcut chances have been few and far between so far.
In a tight game like this, it usually takes a bit of magic or luck to break the deadlock. An unusual name has been constant both in commentary and with some Celtic fans on social media. Kristoffer Ajer. The big centre back is not just getting singled out for his defensive skills, he has looked like the most attacking player on the park.
He did make a superb sliding tackle in the first half but his runs forward have not gone unnoticed. One of his runs nearly led to a wonder goal but it just flashed past the post. Just on the stroke of half-time, the big man had the goal in the net only for it to be disallowed for offside. Here is what some Celtic fans think of big Ajer’s first-half display.
Ajer is getting a bit further forward than usual here, one of the more sensible tactical changes if indeed it is so… opponents always give our CBs time on the ball and Kris is skilled enough to take advantage 0-0 21’

Kristoffer Ajer playing really well for Celtic today. Carrying the ball out of defence with the sort of confidence Roddy MacDonald never had.

HT Celtic 0 Aberdeen 0
Celtic dominating the game without creating many clear chances v Dons team who are defending well. Big Ajer had a cracking first half. Playing fine. Space should open up in second half. Eddie & Weah can exploit when they come on ?— Electronic Tims (@ETimsNet) March 9, 2019
