CELTIC FANS will be picking over the bones of the Salzburg game until Sunday when the bhoys head to St Johnstone, but one thing’s for sure – they think they have a player in Yousouff Mulumbu.

The Celtic midfielder got only his second start since joining in the summer and was tasked with being Scott Brown for the evening.

The former Killie man played a blinder in the first half and was Celtic’s best player. In the second half the whole team was overrun and the team as a whole capitulated but Mulumbu was still in amongst it all.

The player was subbed in the latter stage of the game when the result had already gone.

Having taken the lead in the first half an abysmal second half ensured Celtic left with nothing.

That didn’t stop these Celtic fans from praising the player and actually being upset when he was substituted.

  1. What can you say about decisions by manager’s. Taking Mulumbu off was a mistake, as he was making Celtic tick. As much sense as Martin O’Neil taking off John Hartson V’s Motherwell at fir park when It was taking three men to mark him. And we all know how that game finished. Shocking second half. Now the Hoops must know how most Scottish teams feel when Celtic come at them and flood their box in players looking to score.

  2. Right decision as he was everywhere on the pitch in the first half and probably
was starting to tire…will be a different when fully fit

  3. No where near good enough .if celtic want to be involved in europe after xmas we really need to be much much better that tonight …griffiths was non existant .

  4. Mulumbu very gud tonite, Édouard, apart from a great finish, was awful, shocking hold up play….the minute Salzburg equalised, there was only 1 outcome….our passing was poor and their keeper had nothing to do for most of the game…..harsh red card for me also, thought Forrest put in a gud shift…..much improvement needed to get out of this group…..

  5. Men against boys. Apart from the Celtic goal Red Bull completely dominated the game and deserved to win. Now why do I hear excuses when we cannot break down teams with 10 men behind the ball. Well that was how we played and Red Bull didn’t find it too difficult. I wouldn’t blame any individual to be honest. We were just totally outplayed simple as that. It will take a good team to beat Salzburg. I like teams that just decide we can score more goal that outr opponents can and just go for it.

  6. Lennon built the side Rodgers destroyed it. Worst midfield in living memory. At least Forrest is banned for the next match.

  7. Maybe the reason is Tony, Celtic can’t defend in any game. If they are gifted a goal lead. Didn’t take Red Bull very long to find the spaces appearing in the Hoops midfield, then the rickity defencive line, put there to stop up Craig Gordons goal. All the goals were well taken by RB. So back to the tactics board St Brendan.
