The Belgian League are proposing the rest of the season be cancelled and top of the table Club Brugge be crowned champions.
If this goes ahead it sets a precedent throughout European football.
Brugge are currently fifteen points clear, but as the ever astute Moravcik67 points out, after the Belgian League split, the top half of the table have their points halved. This makes Brugge’s lead at the top lower than Celtic’s going into the final eight games in Scotland.
Quick point on the news that Belgium will crown Club Brugge as champion.
They're 15pts clear after 29 games. However, the Belgian league splits after 30 games – top 6 have points halved before playing another 10 games.
It's effectively a 7pt lead with 11 games to go.

Celtic and Celtic supporters want to be together on the pitch and in the stands when nine in a row is concluded. However, this crisis shows no signs of slowing down and the reality is setting in that football won’t return until the second half of the year at the very earliest.
If games can’t be played, Celtic were on course for the the title and the only ones disputing it are people associated with a team who blew their chance.
Nine in a row is coming.
