CELTIC appear to have dodged a major bullet with the news former Celtic loan star Timo Weah has suffered another injury for his new club Lille just 10 minutes into his return.

The player was on loan at Celtic this time last year having been brought in by Brendan Rodgers from PSG. The player showed flashes of brilliance and many saw the potential in Timo. However, Brendan Rodgers leaving and Neil Lennon coming in had a profound effect in the outcome of the player’s Parkhead future.

The Irishman didn’t play Timo as much as he would’ve liked and when the under 21 world Cup came up and the club tried to facilitate Timo’s desire to play for his country and make sure he had a chance to play in the Scottish Cup Final – the player declined. Neil Lennon told the player to leave Lennoxtown before a Glasgow Derby game if Timo wasn’t planning to stick around for his chance to help with a treble treble. The Scotsman reporting at the time Neil Lennon had given Timo the boot.

PSG put a £9m bounty on his head which Celtic were never going to match, however, a lower fee might have tempted the club to do more business from the same well they got Edouard from.

It wasn’t to be and Lille signed the player for PSG’s large asking price. (See TransferMarkt)

Since making the move the USA forward made just two appearances for his new club before a muscle injury would rule him out until Sunday when he got 10 minutes against Marseille. During those ten minutes, Timo tore his hamstring and is now ruled out for the rest of the season.
