Celtic could have a player on their hands if the first two games of his Celtic colt career are anything to go by.

Ciaran Dickson scored for Celtic again on Wednesday night to make it 2 goals in 2 for the new Hoops signing.

Dickson was playing for The Rangers last season and was held in very high regard by the club until Dickson asked for his release in the summer. The player even made his first-team debut and trained with the first team.

Head of the Ibrox Academy Craig Mullholand spoke about Dickson’s progress back in January to the official Gers website, when the player signed a contract extension.

“We are pleased that Ciaran has committed his future to Rangers. Contracts at Rangers, as Ross [Wilson] and the manager have made clear, must be something that are earned and Ciaran’s excellent progress over the last few years has allowed him to achieve this next step in his career.

“Ciaran has now been training with the first-team for several months, has made his debut and has impressed the manager and his staff. Our Academy programme has been designed pre-Covid to provide ‘best v best’ opportunities and it is in these moments that Ciaran has come to the fore, scoring in the Glasgow Cup Final, in the Youth Cup Final, in the Alkass Cup Final and also in the UEFA Youth League.”

It was granted and little did they know he was heading to play in a Celtic jersey. The 19-year-old is a big Celtic fan and to get the chance to play for the Hoops is a dream come true.

He’s started off well in his first two matches and Colt boss Tommy McIntyre will be hoping there’s more to come.

Dickson is getting among the goals but he’s also a gritty midfielder player who can give you that bit of extra dig – not dissimilar to. a Barry Robson type of player.

It’s great to see him start his Celtic career very well and if he keeps putting in top performances, Ange Postecoglou will take notice.
