As speculation regarding Ewan Henderson’s future grows, it seems inevitable that he will be added to the long list of those that Celtic have let down.

After debuting in a goalless draw in 2018, the 21-year-old has made twelve appearances for the Hoops.

The midfielder appeared to be in Brendan Rodgers’ plans, after signing a new deal and featuring in the squad regularly, but after the Irishman left to head Leicester, Neil Lennon didn’t give the academy graduate a chance. He was used by Neil Lennon three times in the disastrous season of 2020/21. Despite performing well in a 3-2 win of Lille he was left in the cold.

Neil Lennon has to shoulder a lot of the blame for this, the former Celtic boss was reluctant to give youth players the chance to impress, and even if they grabbed the chance they wouldn’t feature greatly

Henderson spent the second half of last season on loan to Dunfermline where he played well featuring in 10 games and scoring once.

This season, Henderson came off from the bench in Celtic’s Europa League game against Real Betis and scored the winning goal, but, he hasn’t been featured since.

His days at Celtic are numbered now – Ange bringing in players he believe can make an impact now. Hibs could be Ewan’s next destination, for someone who is undoubtedly talented it’s a shame it has to end this way but it is the best move for Henderson’s career.

Celtic’s number 52 leaves Celtic with an amazing stat. Henderson has never lost a game with Celtic, despite playing in the Premiership, Scottish Cup, Champions League, and Europa League.

  1. You can write some garbage here!
The “blame Lennon” for anything that went wrong is immature, infantile and totally ignorant.
The player is a little above average, but has never at any time taken the opportunity to set the heather on fire!
He is not quite Celtic class, and thats a fact.

This is an opinion with no factual basis.

During Brendan Rodger’s time with Celtic, Ewan made 2 appearances for the Senior team in January and February 2019. Neil Lennon took over 3 days after this 2nd appearance and played Ewan in the next 3 games and gave him one more outing in May. Neil played him twice as much in 3 months as Brendan had in 20 months with Ewan available to the Senior squad.

Neil then arranged a fantastic loan opportunity with Ross County for him but Ewan managed only 9 appearances with them, three as a sub, in 5 months before Ewan walked out and chose to return to Celtic reserves, just as lockdown hit. Neil Lennon was not responsible for his failure to shine at Ross nor for lockdown. Ewan eventually took another trial chance with Dunfermline between March and June 2021 and fared a little better this time before coming back to Celtic. Neil played him 3 times in Dec. 2020 and Jan 2021 where again he did not really excel you mention excelling in the win against Lille but omit the fact that he played in 2 January league games at CP under Neil which were both home draws i.e. he was given a chance and, again, failed the audition.

On return from a reasonable, no better than that, spell at Dunfermline he had a chance to impress Ange Postecoglou but was given only one chance, that Europa tie vs Betis when we chose to play our reserves in a dead rubber.

Factually, with this evidence provided, Neil Lennon gave him more chances than Brendan or Ange. But none of the three were convinced he was Celtic class.

Nevertheless, you’ll find a willing audience for your lie in much of the Celtic support who need a scapegoat for the loss of 10iar.

I willl be grateful to Neil Lennon for all he did prior to our whoe team and management messing up last season.
