Celtic need a new goalkeeper, that has been evident for a while now. Ange came in with a fresh set of eyes and hoped Barkas could show something he hasn’t managed to show to the Celtic support to this point.

After the mistake against Midtjylland during the first leg and the first half against West Ham, the Celtic manager decided to drop Barkas for the away leg in Denmark. There was an argument to keep Barkas in goals and see if he can come good but it’s been difficult to continually make the point when he’s done very little to show he’s up to the job.

Neil Lennon dropped Barkas on two occasions last season and it did very little to garner a response or anything resembling a reaction.

Barkas’ exclusion from the Champions League qualifier should now be the end of it. It’s unfathomable that we’d see Barkas between the goals at Tynecastle.

There’s no way the Greek goalkeeper can be put back between the sticks and he should be told that he’s free to leave on loan once a goalkeeper has been signed by the club.

Sending Barkas out on loan and him finding his form elsewhere to salvage some of his transfer fee in a years time would be the best idea for everyone.

We can’t have anymore flip flopping, Scott Bain should be the number one until we bring in a new man.

Celtic need a strong hand in goals and someone who’s going to be the difference between a win and a draw. Joe Hart has been linked with a move to the club, we’ll see how that goes.

  1. Sorry but is not that been our frailty all along,LINKED, its no secret we need a few in the door so stop pussying about and sign the player we are supposed to be interested in.We all know that agents are touting their stable all over the place and more than a few have been targeted at Celtic by them and we have little or no interest in them so come out and say we have no interest in this player and watch the prices and wage structure of these wannabees tumble.
