JOTA was a starring player as Celtic pushed aside Livingston to maintain their lead at the top.

The winger was a thorn in the side of the Livi backline all afternoon, especially in the first half. The winger was taking men on as he drove forward, something he had failed to do in recent weeks.

With his future uncertain, the poor performances made fans think twice about signing the winger. On Sunday, he showed glimpses of the player that we saw before his injury.

The Portuguese winger took a handful of shots, one of them forced Stryjek into making a decent save.

Cutting inside, he left defenders dazzled. But this is not all that the Benfica player achieved at the Tony Macaroni. He set up two goals: the opener came from a Jota corner, and James Forrest’s came from a perfectly weighted ball behind the Livi defence.

The graphic further proves this. The star man had seven key passes and completed 66% of his dribbles. He was also the side’s top performer.

The winger has a £6.5 million option to buy installed in his loan contract, Celtic are pushing to complete a deal, but the final decision lies with the winger.
