With Kelvin Wilson tipping Celtic to go back in for Ben Davies this summer [Read More Here], will the club actually go back in for the defender who snubbed them at the eleventh hour.

Sky Sports had already reported the deal was done and Celtic fans were gearing up for Davies becoming a Celt when the news of a Liverpool bid bizarrely came to fruition.

Of course, with no Celtic deal signed Davies was never going to turn down Liverpool and he went on his way.

Celtic didn’t manage to bring a centre-back to the club, and now Davies is yet to start for the Anfield side.

If Celtic scouts still have his name on the list, there’s a chance, even with a new manager in place, the club could revisit the deal this summer.

There’s no real possibility of Davies keeping any sort of place in the side once Liverpool are back to full strength. Having already dealt with officials at Celtic, could this deal go through at a later date?

It could work out the way Celtic intended in the first place. They wanted to sign Ben on a pre-contract and bring him in the summer. A loan deal from Liverpool could see him make the move at the same time. Only time will tell.
