Jealousy is a terrible thing but when it comes to looking over at their neighbours, The Rangers try their best to keep up. They also try to pretend they don’t care while simultaneously disparaging nearly everything the club does.

Ex-Gers in the media are no different.

Alan Hutton has given his view on why Celtic are landing multi-million pound deals with Adidas and why The Rangers cant get the same deal.

The former Spurs defender claims it’s all to do with Celtic winning things. While that’s a small part of it, it’s certainly not the only reason why we’re partnered with Adidas.

As a brand, we have presented ourselves well for years and when it comes to getting a reference from a previous kit maker about what we sell and how we go about our business, the reports will be glowing. We do business the correct way!

Across the city, they have entered into a legal battle with their current kit maker who has been knocked from pillar to post. The Ibrox brand form a business sense is not desirable to top brands – even if they won a trophy.

Speaking to football insider, Allan Hutton have his opinion with blissful ignorance.

“I think they’ve got the same size of fanbase all over the world, the difference with Celtic at the moment is that they’re winning things.

“It’s plain and simple, they’ve won everything there is to win over X number of years so I think from a sponsor’s point of view, they’re getting it out there more.

“I obviously understand why Adidas have went to Celtic and supposedly given them the biggest deal in Scottish history so I do see where it’s come from.

“I think for Rangers to get back to that level, it’s as simple as winning things – I think everybody knows that.”

Bless.
