John Kennedy will seemingly have the chance to achieve some silverware in his time in interim charge at Celtic Park after the resumption of the Scottish Cup was confirmed today.

Despite having the opportunity to stake a claim for the full-time role, the 37-year-old is not anticipated to be appointed as the permanent manager of Celtic, as the Bhoys hierarchy look towards adopting a new structural realm next campaign.

However, a cup triumph alongside going on an unbeaten run in the Scottish Premiership may be the perfect opening to showcase his abilities as a head coach for any prospective onlookers.

Kennedy has made no secret of his aspirations to make the step up to becoming the main figure in the dugout at some point in his career. Working his way through the ranks at the Hoops after becoming a scout in 2010, now may be the time to prove his worth as a number one and have free reign to impose his style on a side moving ahead.

Already previously sought after by the likes of Hibernian last season, leading his boyhood club to a domestic trophy will only enhance his reputation as one of the brightest young coaches that Scotland has to offer.

Working under the likes of Brendan Rodgers, Neil Lennon and Ronny Deila, the former Scotland international has been exposed to a multitude of different managerial qualities, which he will be able to tap into and incorporate with his own preferential framework should he indeed make the plunge.

No matter what happens relative to the future, Kennedy has given 22 years of excellent service to Celtic and will always be regarded as an important figure within the history of the club. Winning the Scottish Cup would be a fitting reward for his resilience throughout his time at Parkhead.
