If you were to tell me around six months ago that Celtic would still be in European competition competing in the knockout rounds, whilst also having delivered the first piece of silverware of the campaign and sitting top of the league, I am not sure I would have believed you.

Thinking back to the beginning of the season, this Celtic squad feels lightyears away from then and last seasons squad, which is a sign of how far Ange Postecoglou has taken us in such a short space of time.

During the early European fixtures, after being knocked out by FC Midtjylland in the first round of Champions League qualifying and having to face AZ Alkmaar at a later stage, I would have probably doubted our chances at reaching the Europa League or any knockout European football.

However, we found ourselves doing that last night.

Ultimately, it ended in disappointment against Bodo/Glimt, and fans have every right to be frustrated at last nights events, as I am sure Ange Postecoglou will be. But at the same time, it is another sign of how far we have come, even in our expectations in terms of performance for this group of players.

Despite the result, there is still a chance of progression from this tie. It will be a tough task over Norway next week, but this group of players have shown their ability to fight back from adversity before this season.

For now, the focus will strictly be on Dundee in another big league game this weekend.

But last night could prove to be a big moment for this Celtic squad, just as the defeat to Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League earlier in the season was.

It will be a learning curve that Ange can hopefully use to his advantage in continuing to develop what has been an impressive Celtic side this season.
