Celtic have had three games so far this season, two wins and a draw for the bhoys as they look to make history this term.

James Forrest always gets a tough ride from a section of the Celtic support, I’ve never picked up my pitchfork to join in but I do criticise when there’s ample reason to do so. The lad has been brilliant for Celtic, especially in the past three or four seasons.

It has to be said, James hasn’t looked match sharp so far. The winger finding the going tough, even against Iceland side KR, he appeared to be tripping over himself and struggling to find his killer instinct.

Nobodies position in the team should be untouchable but at present, due to lack of options, James can have ten bad games on the trot and he’ll still get the nod from Lennon. We need proper competition on the wings so we can get the best out of James and help him out with so many games this season.

Karamoko Dembele can play in there, but right now, he’s not seen as a serious option to start an important game.

Competition for places is healthy and James needs to be pushed. Shved going out on loan frees space up in the squad but right now the club look set on bringing in a defender above anything else.

  1. James struggled only against Kilmarnock. Along with evry one of his team mates. He performed well against both Hamilton and Reykjavik.

The JF criticisms would be taken more seriously if we waited for him ot have a bad game before deciding somebody else- anybody else- was better

  2. Part of the problem with jamsie is he gets played in late, from the back passers ,and the side way gang there is never many though balls and defenders know when he is going to receive it, and they have all the time in the world to double up on him ,Eddy suffers the same fate with slow play from the midfield. The midfield pass the ball to our keeper who in turn wacks it up the park, yet the likes of brown will not knock it up the park strange play. why pass it back then
