Yesterday was a result we have been looking for, for some time now. An away fixture which we comfortably take home all three points, with a solid 2-0 victory over Motherwell at Fir Park.

Of course, that will leave Ange delighted, and you could see that with his reaction after the final whistle. But there is also another aspect of the game I think he would love to have seen.

The two goals from Jota and David Turnbull are symptomatic of how the 56-year old wants his Celtic side to play.

We have seen signs of that so far this season, mainly at Parkhead in 6-0 victories over Dundee and St Mirren, plus also in spells of certain other games. But we were arguably yet to see that on the road.

Saturday’s win was a prime example of Ange’s philosophy. Kyogo wins the ball back for the first goal, and we counter fast, with Jota finishing the move off. And the second, a controlled team goal, which starts all the way back at Joe Hart from his penalty area, before being finished by Turnbull.

Not just the goals, though, I believe we looked much better all-round – especially defensively and possibly that is something the coaching staff have been able to work on during the international break.

Hopefully, this is the beginning of seeing this sort of stuff in Ange Postecoglou’s Celtic side on a consistent basis, which would be brilliant to see at an early stage of his reign, during one of the clubs most extensive rebuilds.
