It appears Celtic are just one point away from the title and there are more of our negatives being spoken about than our positives. Listening to Radio Clyde talk about Celtic while I drove home from the game painted a picture of a club in dire straits.

Yes, the team have been flat and they have been playing a pedestrian type of football for large chunks of the season BUT since the turn of the year Celtic’s defensive record is quite incredible and nobody is giving the bhoys the credit they deserve.

Since the turn of the year, Celtic have only shipped three goals in the SPFL. One of them against The Rangers, a penalty against Hearts and a cheap sucker punch by Motherwell who got a goal by not passing the ball back to Celtic after an injury – It’s quite remarkable.

What’s more, in the last five games we have seen five clean sheets with the centre back pairing of Jozo Simunovic and Kristoffer Ajer. Scott Bain deserves immense credit as does the two centre backs who were both second choices at the start of this season.

Celtic are due to give someone a going over before the end of the season if they continue to shut out opponents and find their rhythm going forward.
