Celtic midfielder Matt O’Riley was on target for Denmark U21s in their UEFA Euro U-21 play-off.

Along with Celtic captain Callum McGregor, O’Riley is the only other player to have had as busy an international period with this being a vitally important strike which pulled his side level on aggregate.

Goals like this will likely catch the eye of Danish boss Kasper Hjulmand who may fancy taking O’Riley to the World Cup in November.

It would be a great experience for 21-year old as his international side get set to take on Tunisia, France and Australia in their group.

As he turns 22 in late November, his days of playing for the U21s are quickly drawing to a close meaning a senior cap may be nearing for the former MK Dons midfielder.

Celtic would benefit financially if O’Riley did go away with the Danish national side as they would receive a small fee for the days the player is at the World Cup along with his former side MK Dons.

He is already catching the eye of other clubs which is testament to his performances since arriving in January at Celtic.

Every Celtic fan will hope that he comes through this crucial game unscathed an available for selection for the weekend’s tie against Motherwell as he has become such a crucial player under Ange Postecoglou.
