It has been a hell of a week for the newest January recruit, Matt O’Riley, making his Celtic and Parkhead debut all within a week of signing for the Hoops.

The midfielder officially joined up with his teammates at Lennoxtown on Monday, getting to work right away after signing from English League One side MK Dons.

O’Riley later went on to make his debut for the club, picking up man of the match in the 2-1 win over Hearts at Tynecastle on Wednesday evening.

Yesterday, the Englishman experienced his first taste of the Celtic support inside Paradise and took to social media to react in the aftermath of the late 1-0 victory over Dundee United.

The 21-year old has certainly been an impressive pick-up so far by Ange Postecoglou and those working behind the scenes, with the attacking midfielder once again showcasing his qualities in Saturday’s win.

It would have been a brilliant experience for O’Riley to make his Parkhead debut in front of a buzzing crowd after a late winner from Liel Abada secured all three points.

O’Riley might have thought he had experienced two incredible Celtic crowds in his first two games, but that could hit a whole new level, with Glasgow rivals Rangers travel to town on Wednesday night.

  1. If Matt keeps up these performances, Turnbull will struggle to get game time. Skill set apart, he understands that the goals are in front of him and not to the side or behind him. Turnbull will play, but if you want your best on the big games, then O’Reilly, Rogic & Hatate are all in front of him.
