Date of Birth: 4 July 2000
Debut: v Real Betis 9th December 2021
Nationality: Dutch

Osaze Urhoghide is a product of Wimbledon’s youth academy programme, having played for the London outfit’s Under-18s and 21s sides in his formative years. In the summer of 2019, the Dutch-born Englishman swapped Plough Lane for Sheffield Wednesday’s Hillsborough Stadium where he spent a season playing for Lee Bullen’s Under-23s.

At the beginning of 2020, the defender graduated to Sheffield Wednesday’s first team, and made his senior-level debut in a 1-0 FA Cup win away to Brighton on January 4. One week after that, Urhoghide started in the Yorkshire derby against Leeds United and helped his side triumph 2-0 at Elland Road.

“I’ll make a lot of big tackles in games and put in a lot of hard work. The work-rate will be there and the tackles will be there.”

Over the course of the 2020/21 campaign, the centre-back – who can also play on the right side of defence – made 21 appearances for The Owls; 19 of those in the English Championship and two in the FA Cup.

On July 1, 2021, Urhoghide signed a four-year contract at Paradise. As for what fans can expect from the player, he said: “I’ll make a lot of big tackles in games and put in a lot of hard work. The work-rate will be there and the tackles will be there.”

CELTIC CAREER SO FAR

Arriving at the club alongside fellow Sheffield Wednesday player Liam Shaw, Urhoghide failed to break into the first team during his first season at Celtic.

He made his debut for the club in a 3-2 victory against La Liga outfit Real Betis where he played at right-back.

The defender joined Belgian side K.V. Oostende on loan during the winter transfer window until the end of the season with the side having an option to buy.
