Celtic Star Leaves in Protective Boot

Callum Osmand has handed Celtic a major injury concern after leaving Celtic Park on Saturday night on crutches.

Osmand departed the stadium wearing a protective boot on his left foot, the same leg on which he suffered a serious hamstring injury against Midtjylland in November. That problem kept him out until May, when he returned and scored in the win over Hearts that secured the league title.

The Hoops striker was seen lying on the turf at full-time after coming on in the 70th minute, which will add to the concern over his condition.

With first-choice striker Kasper Høgh currently injured and having missed the Falkirk game earlier on Saturday, Celtic could be left with just Camilo Durán and Johnny Kenny as recognised striker options.

Kenny has been linked with an exit, but if Osmand is now facing time out, the Irish forward may have to remain at Celtic for the time being to provide cover in a key area of the squad.

For Osmand to pull up after only limited league minutes this season is a major concern.

Just as it looked like the English striker could get more opportunities in Høgh’s absence, he now appears to have picked up an injury of his own.
