Craig Gordon has scored a massive own goal this evening by talking candidly about his contract talks with David Tanner of all people.
Gordon said talks hadn’t gone well, and that he’d have expected to be further down the line by now. The goalkeeper also said publicly the disparity in what he wants versus what the club is offering is enormous. A normal grievance from many player, but to go public with what’s gone on because he isn’t officially a Celtic player any more will not have helped his cause one bit.

Celtic fans respect the goalkeeper and what he’s done at the club over the past five years. However, many will see his finished role within the team and back the Celtic board’s approach to dealings.
Going public with the information and criticising the club will rub Celtic the wrong way and it could lead to the end of any talks the two sides had planned.
At this point, Hearts seems like the player’s destination. Perhaps he’s just leveraging his dealings with Celtic to push up his contract offer with the Jambos.
