CELTIC are going into a very important season under less than ideal circumstances. However, the show must go on and we must prepare as best we can.

There are two players at the club right now who, in my opinion, can’t be at the club next season without signing a new deal; Odsonne Edouard and Kristoffer Ajer.

Both have two years left on their deal, so some fans will ask what’s all the fuss about? If you’ve watched the way our board operate, they DON’T let their biggest sellable assets run down their contract until the last year.

We’ve seen players sold and we’ve seen Stuart Armstong sign a one-year contract extension in the past to stay with the club just one more season before heading off for decent money.

Both players future is ultimately away from the club but next season means so much to the support, we want to see both in the trenches as we look to make history. It can only happen if new deals are agreed. If either or both don’t sign up to new deals and the end of the window is approaching, it’s going to be nervy – at that point, we’d have to hope nobody matched their valuation.

When it comes to player’s leaving the club, I am very jaded in that respect and stopped giving predictions on the outcomes of transfer windows after Kieran Tierney packed his bags while the bhoys were playing away in Europe.
