CELTIC were thumped in a game that looked every bit like a 2nd placed Bundesliga side taking on a 6th place SPFL team.

The reality of where we are at the minute and how far we are away from being a cohesive and well-oiled team is frightening.

Ange Postecoglou revealed he was gutted for the supporters who brought so much energy to the tie.

The fans were in fine voice and even kept going when the Hoops were 2-0 down at half time.

One highlight before the game was the Green Brigade’s banner display. The group have managed to pull off some great displays over the years – this one was subtle but a nod to our founding father Brother Walfrid – which was a nice touch.

Celtic fans are getting used to the all too familiar sight of teams coming to Celtic Park and having things their own way.

Yes, the Hoops were unlucky not to get on the scoresheet with some outstanding goalkeeping but Bayer deserved the win.

The bhoys have a very important game on Sunday, if they don’t win it, cup competitions become our only outlet for silverware.
