It feels like a long time since the song ‘Efe Ambrose Ballon D’or’ has been chanted by the Celtic support but it was only in 2017 when the Nigerian defender cut ties with the club and moved to Hibernian.
Then manager Neil Lennon snapped up his former Celtic defender to help spearhead his Easter Road assault. It was a signing which made a lot of sense.
Efe left Hibs and Scottish foobtall at the start of this year when Derby came calling for the player’s signature. Frank Lampard at the time wanted defensive reinforcements and brought the former Celtic man into the fold.
Efe wouldn’t even play one game for Derby before he was released in the summer to find a new club. At this present time – Efe is still without a club and it appears there’s interest from not one but two Scottish football clubs.
According to The Scotsman, Hibs want him back but Tommy Wright and St Johnstone are showing an interest in the out of contract star.
Could the return of Efe be on the cards?
