With all the outrage about Celtic dropping points and the fingers being pointed at the players for not seeing the game out surely the referee, Kevin Clancy deserves honourable mention.

Not only did the referee disallow a Celtic goal which was perfectly legitimate but he also missed another stonewall penalty decision for the bhoys which has just come to light with fan footage.

Kieran Tierney is advancing in the box when the ball gets away from him – he then is bundled over in the most cynical fashion off the ball right in front of the Celtic support who can’t believe the officials have not seen this; or if they have seen it and chose to ignore it.

Celtic won a penalty in the game with Griffiths stepping up and missing from the spot but this is another example of the referee unable to do his job properly.

Nobody is quite sure what Clancy has seen for the goal being chopped off and this is just as bewildering.

After this, when these decisions are not given it’s up to the players to take on that adversity and make sure they see out the game which they weren’t able to do.

It’s disappointing from a Celtic perspective – we mustn’t be wasteful but we also need to count on the boys in black doing a good job from time to time. Even the best teams can suffer as a result.
