Ange Postecoglou’s side head into the final two matches before the World Cup break sitting seven points clear at the top of the SPFL.

The Scottish Champions have navigated themselves through a hectic schedule of fixtures since returning after the last international break which has saw them play a total of 11 games so far in 36 days with a game coming almost every three days.

During that run of fixtures the Hoops have had a 100% record in domestically having one all seven games which included them booking a place in the semi-final of the League Cup to face Kilmarnock.

Heading into the last international break, Ange Postecoglou’s side sat only two points clear at the top of the table after a disappointing 2-0 defeat to St Mirren but things quickly got going again.

The team have shown huge resilience and character during this batch of fixtures scoring late goals against St Johnstone, Hearts and Dundee United to further stamp the ‘We Never Stop’ mantra.

Throughout these busy games, the Champions League performances weren’t what we hoped for, but the team will take a lot away from the experience. The bhoys will need to prove that they’ve learned something next year. For now, they need to make sure they’re back in Europe’s premier competition.

Squad rotation has been imperative over the last month, and it is likely that the changes made at St Mirren just came too soon.

The break will do players such as Oliver Abildgaard and Sead Haksabanovic the world of good as they look to continually get up to speed with the demands Postecoglou places on players.

It is also important to note that the Hoops have been without captain Callum McGregor for many of these fixtures which would have been unthinkable last season.
