Owen Moffat got to show Ange Postecoglou what he could do at the beginning of this season when numbers were low. Moffat was given some game time with the first team in pre-season and certainly caught the eye.

Ange was impressed but also recognised the player had a lot of work to do before he could be considered a first team squad member.

Since then, Owen has been lighting up the Lowland League with some outstanding performances. The winger has been brilliant and has really grown with more game time.

Celtic ran out 4-2 winners against Dalbeattie on Saturday afternoon and it was Moffat’s goal that was the pick of the bunch – scoring a spectacular effort from outside the area.

If Ange doesn’t think Owen fits quite ready to hold down a place in his side next season then first team football out on loan in a higher league would certainly be the best move for every one.

Moffat is just one of a number of players chipping away behind the scenes and hoping to make an impact.

There is a feeling in the youth system Ange will seriously have a look at players if they continue to put the work in.

Tommy McIntyre and Darren O’Dea are the bridge between Ange and the B team and they’ll certainly be briefing the Australian about Owen after today.
