Tranmere Rovers fan @TRFCNextGen gave us some insight into Lee O’Connor and his progression at Tranmere this season. The Irishman is yet to make his first team debut for Celtic but given the opportunity in the summer at Celtic Park,you wouldn’t bet against seeing him in some capacity.
@TRFCNextGen looked at Lee’s latest performances and how he has grown into this side over the season. Used as a deep midfielder as of late, O’Connor shows real signs of progressing and his ability to play a number of positions can be a valuable asset.
Lee is set to play in the EFL Trophy final this weekend and could bring home silverware for the club.

There could be a few factors behind his impressive display;
O’Connor’s freedom to get forward also came with the addition of Liam Feeney in the pivot role alongside Spearing. Having 2 deeper central midfielders meant fullbacks had further cover out of possession. Both players also dropped into RB areas to receive in possession

LOC has done well returning at RB in the absence of the usual competition of SN and OK.
His performances in central midfield against Liverpool, Peterborough and Oxford have also caught the eye.The coaches are clearly working with him in a spell thats suiting all parties so far pic.twitter.com/cWkYV8VWJY

Sunday’s Cup Final line up is hard to predict. Whilst O’Connor has featured in CM through the previous rounds, the current injuries will likely see him remain at right-back That’ll bring a match up with his fellow Irish international Sunderland’s in-form Aiden McGeady.
Lee was signed by Celtic from Manchester Utd. Many United fans were miffed to why the club would let lee go given his talent but under Neil Lennon, he’s had zero chances. Hopefully that changes and we wish him all the best in the Cup final at the weekend.
