It’s gone quiet on the Alistair Johnston Transfer front over the last 48 hours. The player has been in Qatar for the World Cup, so can’t exactly be anywhere else to seal a deal.
The Canadian right-back has now played his final game of his countries World Cup campaign and will shortly heading back to his club.
Top Canadian journalist Manuel Veth has already revealed the deal is all but done at this point.
The path now looks clear for the defender to join Celtic and with the bhoys set to fly out to Portugal this weekend to begin their warm weather training camp, the next few days would be a good time to announce the Johnston’s move from Montreal to Celtic.
Ange spoke before the World Cup of having most of Celtic’s January business tied up. Realistically, an announcment could be forthcoming any time after tomorrow.
Yuki Kobayashi has already landed in Glasgow a month before he can be registered to play in competitive fixtures for the club. Alistair could well be the same, although expect the player to get some respite before joining up with his new teammates.
