Former Celtic player and now Sky Sports and Daily Mail mouthpiece, Kris Commons has said he backs a call for an investigation into the SPFL.

The Rangers have 100% gone about this the wrong way as they look to put pressure on the SPFL. Kris Commons has bought into the hysteria after a dossier of evidence against the SPFL failed to establish why Neil Doncaster should be suspended alongside Rod Mackenzie.

It seems to be an ever changing narrative and Kris Commons appears to lack a basic understanding of what has gone on here.

Let us be frank, no Celt should be against an investigation into some of the dealings the SPFL have been in charge of over the years.

However, no investigation should be held with the current narrative being pushed. It should also be pushed back until we secure the safety of our game.

People seem to lack understanding of how much an inquiry will take to sort out, what the scope would be and what exactly the inquiry would focus on. Given the scatter gun approach by the Ibrox dossier, it leaves plenty of room for ambiguity and leads to more questions than answers.

Kris Commons seems to be caught up in the hysteria, from his comments, I don’t think he understands an inquiry paid by one football club is by definition not independent.

“If I’m a club chairman tomorrow, there’s no doubt in my mind that I’ll be voting in favour of an independent investigation into the SPFL’s handling of the resolution to end leagues as they stood.” Commons wrote for The Daily Mail as reported by RecordSport.

“I think there are now enough unanswered questions about the whole sorry episode. They are also being asked by enough different people

“The fact Rangers are prepared to fund it removes one obstacle and also suggests they feel they will be vindicated. So there’s nothing to lose.

“When it all kicked off a few weeks back, I thought Rangers were only mouthing off because they didn’t get their way. I thought they should let it go.

“But the accusations have come thick and fast since. In the past week, we’ve heard Hearts, Partick Thistle, Inverness, Falkirk, Stranraer, Brora and Kelty all have their say.

“They all believe the way this affair has been handled hasn’t been so much mediocre as pathetic.”

All the above mentioned clubs have been impacted negatively and are looking out for their own self interests while accusing other clubs of self interest. It’s a mess and whatever was decided by the SPFL was never going to be universally accepted. These are unprecedented times — let’s save our game and if an inquiry is wanted when the dust settles it should encompass years of mismanagement and not just the scope the Ibrox club and Hearts want.

  3. I can not believe what Kris Commons has come away with. Yes he is entitled to his opinion, but once again , one of our ex Celtic players, are dancing to the tune of his free mason/ orange order paymasters!. He was not saying those things when he and his wife were going around with their charities boxes!! One of my favourite players, and now he is “arse licking”. I am sorry to mention your charities, but fight fire with fire!. What a turncoat!. Bye bye Commons, I certainly do not wish to meet him at Paradise,or he will get a few choice words!..

  4. Very sorry to read his thoughtless comments, every club he mentions has it’s own agenda but get a grip are we supposed to kowtow to Kelty hearts and Brora Rangers? Then we would truly be the laughing stock of world football. When it comes down to investigations they should look at the links between the clubs mentioned in Mr Commonses uneducated drivel, and who is actually stirring the s**t☘☘HAIL HAIL.

  5. THE SOONER THIS RUBBISH GETS SORTED OUT THE BETTER. WHO IS THIS GOVAN MOB? THEY ARE MOUTHING AGAIN AND AGAIN–NO SURRENDER TO GIVING CELTIC THE CHAMPIONS 9 IN A ROW. GRAND OLD TEAM TO PLAY FOR….
