For the most part, all the players in the Celtic team put in a shift to no avail, but the determination and heart of Patrick Roberts stood out to me yesterday evening.

His willingness to get on the ball, come deep to defend and run at opponents whenever he could was one of the very few highlights of the night if you’re a Celtic fan.

The biggest compliment PSG gave us and the tricky winger was sticking not one, not two but THREE players on him after he was causing problems down the right-hand side for the French side.

Paddy’s last action of the game was to run down the wing and run into two players with no help around him; he was physically spent. Having completed only one 90 minutes so far this season, he can be proud of the shift he put in.

As he made way for James Forrest, the majority of the support rose to their feet in appreciation, much like they did when they saw the second half effort of most of the players.

The ever growing chasm between Celtic and the mega rich means nights like last night will be common place.

  1. We got licked but there were a few good plusses like Ralston and Roberts performances but what impressed me most about PSG was not their fab skills on the ball but the determination to win the ball whenever Celtic did get possession. They have sent out a big message to the top teams in Europe.
However having said that, Bayern Munich and their powerful organisational ability could prove to be a very different situation!

    • He is a young lad and was too early to be played at this level. He was at fault for the first two goals I would say. Not his fault though they should have signed another defender.

  2. Thought we froze on the big occasion couldn’t string two passes together most of the night.PSG didn’t need to work too hard for their goals either.very poor defensively and if we don’t sort it quickly I fear a few more drubbings because think this group is harder than last year.unless anderlecht are on a par with Rosenberg I can’t see us winning over there .We need a least a draw and victory at home to have Any chance of 3rd place.we can and must do much better.HH.

  3. Look for years most off us have been saying sort out the defense and every year they leave it to late so would some one please tell the board to sort it out and give BR some money to strengthen the back every were else on the pitch is OK .and u can’t compete with teams sutch as PSG when they have endless amount of money what happened to Fair play no such thing when it comes to the top 6 or 7 clubs in Europe shambolic

  4. I wonder if Patrick realizes his error of judgement this morning. Playing the n a team who will not move his game on! Should have chosen a team that enabled him to grow rather than forcing a move onto Hos comfort zone. I fear He may have reduced his chances of playing for City in the premier league! Hope he proves me wrong…,

  5. Keep the heads up BHOYS listen we won’t be the 1st or the last team that gets pummelled by that lot , fair play to them they’re a cracking team but as far as fair play is concerned it’s absolute shambles , also by the way this competition is formatted with the seeding systems it’s always going to be the same teams year after year in the last 8/16 I would much prefer every team goes in to the draw and you play whoever you get drawn against cause I absolutely hate the way the big money clubs basically get byes through to the latter stages and us so called 4th pot clubs have not much chance HH COYBIG
