Former Celtic Star who was part of the squad that beat Aberdeen in both cup finals back in Brendan Rodgers first season was in top form for his new side Girona today.

He played such an outstanding game the player got a standing ovation in the 66th minute when he was substituted off.

Roberts hasn’t played a lot of first team football since before his injury at Celtic and it’s a case of building the Englishman back up at Girona to be able to play the full 90 minutes in the coming weeks.

Girona got a draw against Atletico Madrid at home this afternoon with the SPanish side riding high in La Liga.

Girona were winning 1-0 when he was taken off but will be certainly happy with the amount of game time he’s getting after a very slow start.

It has been reported the midfielder is looking for a permanent move away from Man City this summer.
